Representation of the Mona Lisa
in pigment-based colors

After more than 2,000 hours of work, Pascal COTTE is proud to present – for the first time ever – the true colors of the Mona Lisa.
Based on totally scientific calculations (refer to publications), he has identified the pigments used by Leonardo da Vinci. Then, using pigment maps obtained further to the pictorial analysis of the multispectral files, he restored the painting’s original colors, i.e. the way they used to look in the days when Francis I bought the masterpiece.
